Fuel economy
How does Pyrois work out my MPG?
From one full tank to the next: the distance since your last full fill-up, divided by all the fuel you've added since then. Your first fill-up has no economy, because it's the starting point. The number appears from your second full tank.
What if I didn't fill to full?
Turn off Filled to full. That fill-up shows Partial, and its fuel counts toward your next full tank, so the economy stays correct.
I forgot to log a fill-up.
On the next one, open More and turn on I missed logging a fill-up before this one. Pyrois leaves that tank's economy out instead of showing a false spike. If your odometer jumps more than 1,000 miles (1,600 km) since the last fill-up, Pyrois asks you this itself.
At the pump
The scanner didn't lock on.
Hold the phone square to the display, close enough that the total, the volume and the price fill the frame, and tilt it to dodge glare. Pyrois only locks when volume × price adds up to the total, so it rarely guesses wrong. If it doesn't lock, tap Try a still photo, or Enter manually and type any two of the three numbers. Pyrois works out the third.
Why does the odometer show a grey number?
That's an estimate from your usual distance between fill-ups. Type the real reading, ideally while the ignition is on. If you save with the estimate, Pyrois asks you to confirm it first.
The fill-up screen opened by itself.
When you open Pyrois within about 100 m of a gas station, it's ready to log. It won't do this again for an hour after you save a fill-up, or for 12 hours at a station where you closed it. The + button is always there too.
Log a fill-up without opening the app first
Ask Siri to "Log a fill-up in Pyrois", add the Log Fill-up control in Control Center or on the Lock Screen, or assign it to the Action Button in Settings.
Your data
Where is my data?
On your iPhone. Pyrois also keeps fillups.csv up to date in Files › iCloud Drive › Pyrois, or in Files › On My iPhone › Pyrois if iCloud Drive is off. You can open it in Numbers or Excel.
Moving to a new phone
Restoring an iPhone backup brings Pyrois with it. You can also go to Settings › Export CSV on the old phone and Settings › Import CSV on the new one. A Pyrois export restores exactly.
Import history from another app
Export a CSV from your old app, then go to Settings › Import CSV in Pyrois. Match each column (date, odometer, volume, price), check the preview, and import. Rows already in Pyrois are skipped.
