Privacy policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Pyrois collects no data. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and Pyrois has no server. The fill-ups you log stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We can't see them.
What stays on your iPhone
Your vehicles, fill-ups, stations and any station prices you scan are stored on your iPhone. They're included in your device backups like any other app data. The home-screen widget and the Log Fill-up shortcut read them on the device.
iCloud Drive
If iCloud Drive is on, Pyrois keeps a copy of your fill-ups as fillups.csv in its folder in your iCloud Drive, so you can open it in Files, Numbers or Excel. That file is stored by Apple under your Apple Account under Apple's terms. We have no access to it. If iCloud Drive is off, the file is saved on your iPhone instead.
Location
Pyrois asks for your location only while you're using it, to find the gas station you're at. To list nearby stations, it sends a search for gas stations around your location to Apple Maps. That request goes to Apple, and Apple's privacy policy applies. Pyrois doesn't receive or keep your location. It saves only the coordinates of stations you use, on your iPhone, so they work offline. You can turn location off at any time. The app still works; you just pick the station yourself.
Camera
The camera reads the numbers on the pump display and on station price boards. The text is recognized on your iPhone. No photos are saved, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Apple Intelligence
When you scan a station's price board on a device with Apple Intelligence, the recognized text is matched to fuel grades by Apple's on-device model. It never leaves your iPhone.
Files you import or export
Import reads only the file you choose. Export creates a file you share with whichever app or person you pick.
Crash reports
If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. They describe the app's state when it crashed. They don't include your fill-ups, vehicles, stations or location.
Deleting your data
Deleting a fill-up or vehicle in the app removes it, and the CSV copy updates. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. To remove the iCloud copy too, delete the Pyrois folder in Files › iCloud Drive.
Children
Pyrois doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
